- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon milk (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your doughnut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk the apple cider, applesauce, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Fill each doughnut cavity about 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake the doughnuts for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth.
- Dip the tops of the cooled doughnuts into the glaze and let them set for a few minutes.
