Description

A warm and sweet centerpiece perfect for holiday gatherings, featuring caramelized sweet potatoes bathed in a rich, buttery syrup with hints of cinnamon and vanilla.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Sweet Potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into uniform rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. In a large pot over medium heat, combine the unsalted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, water, and salt. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Add the sliced sweet potatoes to the pot and stir lightly to coat them in the syrup.
  5. Transfer the sweet potatoes to a baking dish and pour any remaining syrup over the top.
  6. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until caramelized.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

For a different twist, substitute brown sugar with maple syrup or add chopped pecans for a crunchy topping.
