- 4 Sweet Potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into uniform rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.
- In a large pot over medium heat, combine the unsalted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, water, and salt. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the sliced sweet potatoes to the pot and stir lightly to coat them in the syrup.
- Transfer the sweet potatoes to a baking dish and pour any remaining syrup over the top.
- Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until caramelized.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
For a different twist, substitute brown sugar with maple syrup or add chopped pecans for a crunchy topping.
