- 4 medium yams (sweet potatoes)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup water
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice the yams into 1/2 inch thick rounds.
- Melt the butter in a mixing bowl and stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the sliced yams and toss gently to coat.
- Arrange the yams in a baking dish and pour any remaining butter mixture over them.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes, basting occasionally.
- Serve warm.
