Description

Ingredients

  • 4 medium yams (sweet potatoes)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the yams into 1/2 inch thick rounds.
  3. Melt the butter in a mixing bowl and stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Add the sliced yams and toss gently to coat.
  5. Arrange the yams in a baking dish and pour any remaining butter mixture over them.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes, basting occasionally.
  8. Serve warm.
