A quick and delicious Chinese beef and onion stir fry that is perfect for a weeknight dinner.

- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated beef to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned.
- Add the sliced onions, garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the onions are translucent.
- Add water to the skillet and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
- Adjust the soy sauce according to your taste preference.
- For extra flavor, add bell peppers or broccoli.
