Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g Bread Flour
  • 350ml Water
  • 100g Sourdough Starter
  • 10g Salt
  • 30ml Olive Oil
  • 20g Honey

Instructions

  1. Mix ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine 500g of bread flour and 350ml of water. Stir gently until no dry flour remains and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Incorporate starter and flavorings: Add 100g of active sourdough starter, 10g of salt, 30ml of olive oil, and 20g of honey to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  3. Knead the dough: Knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. First rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 4 to 6 hours until doubled.
  5. Shape the dough: Turn onto floured surface, shape into a loaf, and proof in a banneton for 1 to 2 hours.
  6. Prepare to bake: Preheat oven to 230°C (450°F) and place Dutch oven inside.
  7. Score the dough: Flip proofed dough onto a baking sheet or Dutch oven, score the top.
  8. Bake to perfection: Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool your creation: Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Store in a paper bag at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze slices in an airtight container and toast directly from the freezer.
