- 500g Bread Flour
- 350ml Water
- 100g Sourdough Starter
- 10g Salt
- 30ml Olive Oil
- 20g Honey
Instructions
- Mix ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine 500g of bread flour and 350ml of water. Stir gently until no dry flour remains and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Incorporate starter and flavorings: Add 100g of active sourdough starter, 10g of salt, 30ml of olive oil, and 20g of honey to the mixture and stir until well combined.
- Knead the dough: Knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 4 to 6 hours until doubled.
- Shape the dough: Turn onto floured surface, shape into a loaf, and proof in a banneton for 1 to 2 hours.
- Prepare to bake: Preheat oven to 230°C (450°F) and place Dutch oven inside.
- Score the dough: Flip proofed dough onto a baking sheet or Dutch oven, score the top.
- Bake to perfection: Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool your creation: Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Store in a paper bag at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze slices in an airtight container and toast directly from the freezer.
