- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
- 1/2 cup active sourdough starter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
Instructions
- Combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 1/2 cups of lukewarm water in a large mixing bowl. Stir gently until no dry flour remains. Cover and let rest for about 30 minutes.
- Sprinkle 1/2 cup of bubbly sourdough starter and 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt over the rested dough. Mix thoroughly until fully integrated.
- Cover the bowl again and let it rise at room temperature for 8-12 hours.
- Turn the risen dough out onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
- Place the loaf on a piece of floured parchment paper and let it rise for another 1-2 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with the Dutch oven inside.
- Transfer the dough (still on parchment) into the hot Dutch oven, cover it, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack for at least an hour before slicing.
