Description
French Onion Soup Burgers combine the rich flavors of classic French onion soup with juicy beef patties, topped with melted cheese and caramelized onions.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 4 burger buns
Instructions
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add sliced onions. Cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Add beef broth and thyme to the onions, simmer for 5 minutes.
- Form ground beef into patties and season with salt and pepper.
- Grill or pan-fry the patties to desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the patty on a bun and topping with caramelized onions.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the onions while caramelizing.
- Serve with a side of fries or a salad for a complete meal.
