Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy—about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  7. Combine brown sugar with remaining cinnamon and chopped nuts for the topping.
  8. Spread half of the batter in the prepared pan, sprinkle half of the crumble topping, then layer with the remaining batter and topping.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cake to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Consider adding chocolate chips or dried fruit for customization. Store wrapped in plastic at room temperature for up to 5 days.
