- 9 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups cooked ham, diced
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, then whisk in flour to create a roux.
- Gradually add milk, whisking continuously until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in salt, pepper, and nutmeg, then remove from heat and mix in half of the Parmesan cheese.
- In a baking dish, layer 3 lasagna noodles, half of the diced ham, half of the mozzarella, and half of the Mornay sauce.
- Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining noodles, Mornay sauce, and top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute ham with sautéed vegetables.
- Make sure to let the lasagna rest before cutting for cleaner slices.
- This dish can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
