Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups cooked ham, diced
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, then whisk in flour to create a roux.
  4. Gradually add milk, whisking continuously until the sauce thickens.
  5. Stir in salt, pepper, and nutmeg, then remove from heat and mix in half of the Parmesan cheese.
  6. In a baking dish, layer 3 lasagna noodles, half of the diced ham, half of the mozzarella, and half of the Mornay sauce.
  7. Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining noodles, Mornay sauce, and top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute ham with sautéed vegetables.
