Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons sake
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • Skewers (soaked in water for 30 minutes)

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar to create the marinade.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated chicken onto the skewers, alternating with pieces of green onion.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side, basting with leftover marinade.
  7. Remove from the grill and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add sesame seeds on top before serving.
