- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for pecan topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly, then whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- In another bowl, mix together the corn syrup, brown sugar, and vanilla extract for the pecan topping.
- Stir in the chopped pecans and pour the mixture over the brownie batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.
