- 1 pie crust
- 6 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Spread the cooked bacon and shredded cheese evenly over the pie crust.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bacon and cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon and add sautéed vegetables.
- Quiche can be served warm or at room temperature.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
