Quiche Lorraine: Discover the Secret to Perfection!

Description

Quiche Lorraine is a classic French dish made with a savory custard filling, cheese, and crispy bacon, all baked in a flaky pastry crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust
  • 6 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  4. Spread the cooked bacon and shredded cheese evenly over the pie crust.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bacon and cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon and add sautéed vegetables.
