- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla, and vinegar.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then fold it into the cream cheese mixture.
- Spread the cheesecake mixture over the cooled red velvet cake.
- Top with sliced strawberries and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
- Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
- Garnish with additional strawberries or chocolate shavings if desired.
