Ingredients

- 4 medium sweet potatoes
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 4 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into even chunks.
- Boil the sweet potato chunks in salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the sweet potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add the milk, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, mashing until smooth.
- Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Mix together the melted butter, walnuts, and breadcrumbs for the topping.
- Sprinkle the topping over the sweet potato mixture.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Serve warm as a side dish.
Notes
You can prepare the sweet potato mixture up to a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator.
