Ingredients

  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup seaweed salad
  • 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and water, and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
  4. In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved.
  5. Once the rice is cooked, remove from heat and let it cool slightly before mixing in the vinegar mixture.
  6. Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat.
  7. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a small border at the top.
  8. Add a layer of seaweed salad, cucumber, and avocado on top of the rice.
  9. Roll the sushi tightly using the mat, then slice into bite-sized pieces.
  10. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a drizzle of sriracha or wasabi.
  • Make sure to use sushi-grade ingredients for the best flavor.
