A delicious and spicy twist on traditional smashed chickpeas served on toast, perfect for a quick meal or snack.
Ingredients

- 1 can chickpeas (15 oz), drained and rinsed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 4 slices of bread (your choice)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mash the chickpeas with a fork or potato masher until slightly chunky.
- Add olive oil, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper, and lemon juice to the mashed chickpeas. Mix well.
- Toast the bread slices until golden brown.
- Spread the spicy smashed chickpeas generously on each slice of toast.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add diced tomatoes or avocado on top.
- This dish can be served warm or cold.
