Description

Delicious gooey chocolate chip cookie bars perfect for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a festive twist.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Green food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and add a few drops of green food coloring if desired.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for a while, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares.

Notes

Consider sprinkling sea salt on top before baking or substituting some chocolate chips for butterscotch or peanut butter chips for variation.
