- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Green food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and add a few drops of green food coloring if desired.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for a while, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares.
Notes
Consider sprinkling sea salt on top before baking or substituting some chocolate chips for butterscotch or peanut butter chips for variation.
