- 2 cups pretzels, crushed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
- 2 cups strawberries, sliced
- 1 package (6 oz) strawberry gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then let it cool completely.
- In a separate bowl, beat together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust.
- In another bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in the sliced strawberries.
- Once the gelatin mixture has cooled slightly, pour it over the cream cheese layer.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set before serving.
Notes
- For a more intense strawberry flavor, use fresh strawberries instead of frozen.
- Make sure the pretzel crust is completely cooled before adding the cream cheese layer to prevent melting.
- This dessert can be made a day in advance for convenience.
