Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
  2. Add the vanilla bean seeds and pod to the mixture.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and comes to a gentle boil.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted.
  5. Pour the pudding into serving dishes and let it cool to room temperature.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
  7. Top with fresh berries before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use half-and-half instead of whole milk.
