Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, butter, and powdered sugar to form a dough.
  3. Press the dough into the bottom of a greased square baking dish.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  6. In a small bowl, dissolve gelatin in cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  7. Heat the gelatin mixture until it is liquid, then mix it with granulated sugar and vanilla extract.
  8. Fold the gelatin mixture into the whipped cream gently.
  9. Spread the vanilla cream over the baked crust and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  10. Cut into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use vanilla bean instead of extract.
  • Make sure the crust is completely cooled before adding the cream layer.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
