- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon gelatin
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, butter, and powdered sugar to form a dough.
- Press the dough into the bottom of a greased square baking dish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- In a small bowl, dissolve gelatin in cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Heat the gelatin mixture until it is liquid, then mix it with granulated sugar and vanilla extract.
- Fold the gelatin mixture into the whipped cream gently.
- Spread the vanilla cream over the baked crust and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Cut into squares and serve chilled.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use vanilla bean instead of extract.
- Make sure the crust is completely cooled before adding the cream layer.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
