- 2 cans (21 oz each) Duncan Hines Comstock Apple Pie Filling
- 1 box (15.25 oz) Betty Crocker Super Moist Spice Cake Mix
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) Land O Lakes Unsalted Butter, thinly sliced
- 1 jar (12 oz) Smucker’s Caramel Topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×13 baking dish with a little butter or cooking spray.
- Spread the apple pie filling evenly across the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Drizzle half of the caramel topping generously over the apples.
- Sprinkle the dry spice cake mix evenly over the top of the apples.
- Cover with the thin slices of butter for even melting.
- Bake for 45 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Drizzle your remaining caramel topping over the warm cake before serving.
Notes
For make-ahead preparation, you can prepare the filling the night before and assemble it in the morning. Also, for a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free cake mix.
