Ingredients

- 1 medium head of green cabbage, chopped
- 2 cups of shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup of sour cream
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
- 2 tablespoons of butter (optional, for greasing dish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Blanch the chopped cabbage in boiling water for about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Combine the sour cream, milk, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Layer half of the cabbage, then half of the cheese, followed by half of the creamy mixture. Repeat the layers.
- Add breadcrumbs on top if using, and dot with butter.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Serve after letting it cool for a few moments.
Notes
Make-ahead tips: Prepare a day in advance and refrigerate. Bake the next day, adding extra time if needed.
