Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the dried cranberries and orange zest.
  5. Whisk together the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and egg in a separate bowl.
  6. Fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined.
  7. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it into a circle about 1 inch thick.
  8. Cut the dough into wedges and place them on a prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
