Description

Indulge in a rich, velvety chocolate lava cake made effortlessly in a slow cooker, featuring a gooey center and a perfect balance of sweetness and richness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) Betty Crocker Super Moist Devil’s Food Cake Mix (plus ingredients called for on the box)
  • 1 box (3.9 oz) Jell-O Chocolate Instant Pudding
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 bag (12 oz) Hershey’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Spray the inside of your slow cooker generously with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Mix the Cake Batter: In a mixing bowl, prepare the cake batter according to package instructions and pour it into the slow cooker.
  3. Whisk the Pudding: In a separate bowl, combine the pudding with milk and whisk for about 2 minutes. Pour this over the cake batter.
  4. Add Chocolate Chips: Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top.
  5. Cook: Cover and set the slow cooker to HIGH for 120-150 minutes. Avoid opening the lid while it cooks.

Notes

For best results, do not stir the layers. You can refrigerate the cake batter for a few hours before cooking, ensuring to allow it to reach room temperature before placing it in the slow cooker.
