Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 8 oz spaghetti or other pasta

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat until it begins to bubble gently.
  3. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant, but do not let the garlic brown.
  4. Cook the shrimp in a single layer until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Pour in the white wine or chicken broth and lemon juice, adding salt and pepper. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
  6. Toss in the cooked spaghetti and mix gently, adding reserved pasta water if needed for desired consistency.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Make ahead by prepping shrimp and sauce separately; combine just before serving. Avoid overcooking shrimp for the best texture.
