Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- 8 oz spaghetti or other pasta
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat until it begins to bubble gently.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant, but do not let the garlic brown.
- Cook the shrimp in a single layer until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Pour in the white wine or chicken broth and lemon juice, adding salt and pepper. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
- Toss in the cooked spaghetti and mix gently, adding reserved pasta water if needed for desired consistency.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Make ahead by prepping shrimp and sauce separately; combine just before serving. Avoid overcooking shrimp for the best texture.
