- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Activate the yeast: Pour warm water into a large bowl and sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt together.
- Bring it together: Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the dry ingredients. Stir until a rough dough forms.
- Knead the dough: Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let it rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
- Divide and freeze: Punch down the dough, divide into portions, wrap in plastic wrap, and place in freezer bags.
- Prepare to cook: Thaw a portion in the refrigerator, roll out, and shape to fit your pan.
Notes
Use a kitchen scale for measuring flour accurately. Ensure water temperature is around 110°F for yeast activation.
