- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 ½ cups warm water
Instructions
- Combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and instant yeast in a large mixing bowl.
- Gradually add the warm water while using a wooden spoon to mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let the dough rise at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with a Dutch oven inside.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently shape it into a ball; let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Remove the hot Dutch oven from the oven, transfer the dough into it, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, remove the lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden-brown.
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Customize your bread by adding herbs or seeds. Store sliced bread in an airtight container for up to a week.
