- 1 cup dried pinto beans
- 4 cups water
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt to taste
- Optional toppings: cheese, cilantro, lime
Instructions
- Prepare the beans by rinsing and sorting them in a colander.
- Combine the cleaned beans into your Instant Pot with water, onion, garlic, and cumin.
- Seal the lid of the Instant Pot and cook on high pressure for 45 minutes.
- Release the pressure naturally for 15 minutes, then perform a quick release for any remaining pressure.
- Mash the beans to your preferred texture, adding salt to taste before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in airtight containers; they can last up to a week in the fridge or three months in the freezer.
