Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2 cups macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish
  • Bacon bits (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Scrub the potatoes and poke holes in them with a fork.
  3. Bake for about 45-60 minutes until tender.
  4. While the potatoes are baking, cook the macaroni according to package instructions.
  5. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  6. Stir in the milk, garlic powder, and cheese until smooth and creamy.
  7. Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce.
  8. Once the potatoes are done, carefully cut them open and fluff the insides with a fork.
