- 4 large russet potatoes
- 2 cups macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish
- Bacon bits (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Scrub the potatoes and poke holes in them with a fork.
- Bake for about 45-60 minutes until tender.
- While the potatoes are baking, cook the macaroni according to package instructions.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the milk, garlic powder, and cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce.
- Once the potatoes are done, carefully cut them open and fluff the insides with a fork.
- Fill each potato with the mac and cheese mixture.
- Top with chopped green onions and bacon bits if using.
