Description
Indulge in warm, gooey cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese frosting. Perfect for special occasions or leisurely mornings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cream cheese
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Prepare the yeast mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast. Allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
- Mix in ingredients: Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in the flour, stirring until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place your kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise overnight in the refrigerator.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the remaining melted butter over its surface.
- Sprinkle the rolled-out dough generously with ground cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Shape the dough by tightly rolling it up from the long edge and slice it into 1-inch thick pieces.
- Cover the rolls loosely and let them rise for 30-45 minutes, then preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix together cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth for the frosting.
- Drizzle the creamy frosting over warm cinnamon rolls and serve immediately.
