Instructions
- Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast, letting it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a larger mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and melted butter.
- Combine mixtures: Add the yeast mixture and egg to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough: Lightly flour a clean surface and knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Prepare peach filling: Mix diced peaches, cornstarch, and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Roll out the dough: Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- Add the filling: Spread the peach mixture evenly over the dough.
- Roll it up: Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log.
- Slice into rolls: Cut the rolled dough into 1-inch pieces and arrange in a greased baking pan.
- Second rise: Allow the rolls to rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake until golden: Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Make the glaze: Whisk powdered sugar with milk to reach desired consistency, then drizzle over rolls.
