- 6 slices of bread (brioche or challah)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 2 cups of fresh peaches, sliced
- Butter for greasing
Instructions
- Grease the dish: Generously butter your 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer the bread: Arrange the slices of bread evenly in the bottom of the dish.
- Add peaches: Scatter the sliced peaches on top of the bread layers.
- Whisk together custard: In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- Pour custard mixture: Slowly pour the custard over the bread and peaches.
- Refrigerate overnight: Cover tightly with plastic wrap and let it rest in the fridge.
- Preheat your oven: The following morning, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake: Remove the plastic wrap and bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes.
- Cool before serving: Let cool for a few minutes before slicing.
