- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- Coarse sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Mix together your active sourdough starter, warm water, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
- Gradually add in the flour until the mixture forms a shaggy dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place your dough in a greased bowl, covering it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Bring water to a gentle boil in a large pot and stir in the baking soda.
- Divide the dough into 12-15 equal portions, rolling each into a rope and twisting into pretzel shapes.
- Boil each pretzel in the baking soda water for 30 seconds before transferring to your baking sheet.
- Sprinkle the pretzels with coarse sea salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
