- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
- Combine the flour and 1/4 cup of sugar, then pour in the melted butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press this mixture into the bottom of your prepared baking dish to form a solid crust.
- Spread the sliced strawberries evenly over the crust.
- Whisk together the milk, eggs, 1 cup of sugar, vanilla extract, cornstarch, and salt until smooth.
- Pour the custard mixture gently over the strawberries.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the custard is set and lightly golden.
- Let the bars cool completely before slicing.
Notes
These bars can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator. Experiment with different fruits for variations.
